How does a thread lift work?

① The doctor will carefully observe your skin and identify areas of sagging, marking areas on your face where each thread will be placed.
② Local anesthesia is applied to the treatment area, making the procedure comfortable and painless.
③ Your doctor will insert PDO (polydioxanone) threads under your skin using a cannula. These threads are very thin and have tiny tapered structures along their length.
④ The threads are shaped and secured in place, then pulled back and tightened. The tapered structures grab the skin tissue and re-suspend the sagging area.
⑤ The PDO threads are then trimmed to ensure they are secure and invisible within the skin.
A thread lift procedure usually takes 30 to 45 minutes. There is virtually no downtime, which means you can return to work and daily activities right away. Aside from minor tenderness, swelling, and bruising (which subsides after a day or two), there are minimal side effects.
Once the thread lift procedure is complete, you’ll see results immediately. Thanks to the subtle but physical “lift” that PDO threads provide, your skin will look firmer, smoother, and more youthful when you leave the clinic. Once everything settles down, you can see the final results 10 to 14 days after the procedure.
